Website and
Blog Layouts
Below are graphics of the options available for website and
blog layouts. Some are necessary and some are optional.
Website Layout

- Header
- Info Bar
- Main Panel Header
- Left sidebar
- Right Sidebar
- Main Panel
- Main Footer Panel
- Footer
Most websites have header and the "Header", "Info Bar" or
"Main Panel Header" can all actually function as the header
area depending on the layout you choose.
A sidebar is usual for most websites, except for sales or
squeeze pages. You have the option of one, two or no
sidebars
Most sites have a footer, the option is your and you can
ever have a main panel footer.
As you can see, you can mix and match quite a bit depending
on the look and layout you'd like.
Blog Layout

- Header
- Nav Bar
- Main Panel - where your posts will show up
- Sidebar Info Area - you can have an "about" or
"subscribe" or more, not widget based
- Left Sidebar
- Right Sidebar
- Bottom Info Area
- Footer
Not a flexible as the website layout you do have some
options available. To see an actual blog that uses all
the above areas, see my Pet Lovers Tips Blog.
You can have one or two sidebars which are widget based, a
sidebar info area if you choose and a bottom info area if you
choose.
For a website and companion blog, header, colors, footer,
etc. will be matched as closely as possible to make the 'site'
almost seamless.
You can see an example with my Pet Lovers Tips Website and Blog. Both site will also link back and
forth with each other.
